4th of July: Red, White & Blue Recipes


Happy Independence Day! Get festive on this patriotic day and prepare some delicious red, white and blue snacks for friends and family. These treats are easy to whip up if you're short on time. Most of them are on the healthier side too which is a bonus. Enjoy these 5 tasty recipes below!

#1 Mason Jar Parfaits

How-to: Alternate layers of plain non fat greek yogurt, sliced strawberries or rasberries, blueberries, granola and whip cream in a mason jar. Cover and store in refrigerator.

#2 Fruit Kabobs

How-to: Place sliced strawberries, blueberries or blackberries, and mini marshmallows on bamboo skewers in a red, white and blue pattern. Cover and store in refrigerator.

#3 Festive Fruit Pizza

How-to: Bake sugar cookie crust in oven for specified time. Let crust cool then top with cream cheese frosting, blueberries and strawberries for a fun patriotic look.

#4 Ice Cream Sandwiches

How-to: With desired ice cream sandwiches, press red, white and blue sprinkles onto ice cream. Place in freezer to firm and then serve.

#5 Patriotic Popcorn

How-to: For red and blue popcorn, place a Tablespoon of canola oil, white sugar and a Teaspoon of desired food coloring into pot with kernels. Remove from heat once popped and enjoy! *No food coloring needed for white popcorn
