5 Ways You Can Help Local Communities Stay Afloat

Local businesses around the world are shutting down due to lack of funds from the COVID-19 pandemic. Assistance with rent and utility payments are needed for most to stay afloat since businesses aren't getting as much service as they used to. Although we are required to distance ourselves as much as possible, we want to still keep in mind the ones that have supported us before all of this happened. Let's support them from afar!

What can you do to help?

  • Organize virtual fundraisers for small businesses in your local community.

  • Make some phone calls and research who could use the help in your area.

  • Continue to purchase your supplies

  • Just be aware of guidelines before entering the store. This may include wearing a face covering or waiting your turn to go inside.

  • Order take-out since most are now accommodating to-go orders.

  • Place your orders online and some can even bring it out to your car.

  • Tip your businesses generously!

  • Since some workers might be getting pay cuts or even laid off, it’s best to give them what you can so they can support their families at home.

  • Give them a shout out online!

  • Tag them in your social media posts or add a picture to your story of your purchase. It'll help get them recognized.
