How All Homes Can Have Grand Entrance

First impressions matter. The entrance into your home is the first things that you and your guests see when they enter, so it is important that it makes a good statement. The entryway sets the tone for the rest of your home. Having a nice and welcoming entryway is one that your home welcomes you and your friends and family after a stressful day. While you want your entryway to look its best, it also sees a lot of activity. The entryway into a home is also often small compared to the rest of the home, and it can be hard to create a statement in a small space.

The most important part of creating a grand entrance in your home is incorporating your most loved things in whatever way you can when you enter. See what type of décor makes you happy. Hang a photo of your family on the wall so you can remember all of the blessings in your life. Adding small details of things that you love, like a decorative vase that someone gave you as a gift can make you smile whenever you enter the door.

Have a welcome mat outside of the front door. Not only will this help cut back on how much dirt comes in off of shoes from outside, but also helps to draw the eye into your front door and into the home. Having a decorative rug on the inside is another way to add style, but also cuts back on the amount of dirt that you have.

Add a bench. Benches are great for everyone to use when they enter the door. This is also a great way to incorporate a mat underneath to store guests shoes or to incorporate decorate bins under for kids snow gear.

Hooks are another necessity that any entryway should have. Hooks are a great way to get items that may clutter the floor, or get easily lost out of the way. This is a great way to hang purses, keys, backpacks, coats and more. There are many different styles that are not only practical but also a design element to any entryway.

There are many more elements to add to your entryway if space allows. Add a narrow side table with a lamp and personal décor like candles, plants, a decorative bowl, and picture frames. Adding a lamp to any entryway is a great way to add light. Either on the side table, a floor lamp, or adding a lamp that can sit flush to the wall. Mirrors also can make spaces look bigger, and bring light into the room.

Your house is your sanctuary and is important that when you come home you feel that your house matches your style, and makes you feel relaxed. Take the time to make sure that your house welcomes you in the way you deserve to make you and your guests feel at home.
